The rocker lever is a component of the engine valve train that is responsible for transferring the motion of the camshaft to the valve. It is a lever that pivots on a shaft and is actuated by the camshaft lobe. The rocker lever pushes on the valve stem, opening and closing the valve at the appropriate time in the engine cycle. The Cummins® rocker lever part number 5253889 is designed specifically for use in Cummins® diesel engines.
